Introduction to Herbal Medicine Training Programme.
(STARTS SEPTEMBER 22ND)
Discover the ancient wisdom of herbs. Learn how to create and use your own natural remedies drawn from the plants around you. Transform your connection with nature into a healing practice.
Unlock the Power of Plants in Your Everyday Life
This course will introduce you to a diverse range of medicinal plants, teaching you how to support the health of yourself and your loved ones using herbs.
Hands-On Learning - in the heart of the Rhondda Valley
Our 3-month course is taught in class one day a month between September and November. Some time will be spent outdoors in month 2. The main part of the course is spent learning in an online study group environment with bi-monthly live calls, but it is expected that participants will also engage in guided self-study over the 3 months.
In class is where you'll partake in hands-on practice, learning to recognise, harvest, and use over 30+ herbs. As well as herbal medicine, you’ll also get to explore other medicines such as tree medicine, seaweeds, mushrooms, and wildflower medicine. You'll gain an in-depth understanding of off-the-shelf remedies and discover natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals.
The course is practical as well as theoretical. During the day workshops, half your time will be spent in hands-on medicine making and the rest of the time, theory. The Materia Medica is one of the most important cornerstones of herbal medicine. Throughout the course, you'll compile a personalised herb reference book, filled with pressed plants, detailed drawings, and all the knowledge you’ve gathered. This hands-on project ensures that the knowledge you gain is both personal and deeply memorable.
As well as medicinal and theoretical practice, your studies will be deeply rooted in the cycles of the seasons, the traditional energetic-based assignations of the plants (according to Botanist, Culpeper), as well as how the planets and Moon phases affect the growth patterns of plants. You’ll emerge with practical tools to weave together energetics and medicine into a personal healing practice.
